Final Mission - Methodology, A Process.

I don't think anyone had any clue what to do for this final mission. We had fewer choices than we did for the last two missions which made it harder to pick. I decided to go with the easier option which was Digital Journalism as for the previous two missions, I wanted to pick something that I hadn't done before and that were going to be a little challenging. Our lecturer wanted to do something completely different which was to make a video of the end product and the process instead of a presentation and we would all be critiquing ourselves by the end of the semester by watching all of the videos in the 2 hour lecture. We could pick anyone from the 5 groups to do this project with and I decided to pick my dearest friend and a girl in my group as she didn't have anyone else to do the project with.

We were really nervous doing this because the expectations were supposed to exceed the last two missions and we had to do a video on top of that. Our goals for this mission, we read the suggested article that our lecturer provided us with here. We decided to talk to Megan's lecturer on her opinion of the topic and what the video is supposed to represent. We had so many ideas but the thought of putting that onto a video were a little bit tricky and we don't have much experience with premier pro, and it would take a long time trying to figure out how to edit it in a way where we all felt comfortable.

To me, digital journalism changed a lot throughout the years and it probably got worse over the decade, I usually come by digital journalism on snapchat, on twitter etc.. On snapchat it's all about celebrities whereas twitter you have a lot on politics and a lot of different opinions. When it comes to news I like to read newspapers, I used to have so many stacked up in my room because my boyfriend would bring one every evening. Nowadays it's everywhere and it's free. The thing I didn't know about digital journalism was that there's so many different forms of journalism and I had no idea how creative people can make them, such as long form scrollytelling, personalised etc..

My group and I decided on Youtube news, we are all familiar with it one way or another and they tend to exaggerate things when it comes to celebrity gossip. Our goal for the mission was to research more about digital journalism and how we were going to go about doing this video. We decided it would be best to do a video mocking celebrity news on Youtube. The only downfall doing this mission was the fact that we were all busy doing other assignments as well as working, and sickness..

The resources we're going to be using are Premier Pro, Photoshop, and Audacity. We are going to be researching the different forms of news on Youtube, and we're going to use Youtube to help us in our editing journey. The only issue with that is the fact that you have to edit a video on one laptop, you can't alter it like you do a presentation together and that's the tricky part.

Anyway I'll let you guys know about my end product in the next blog post and I'll see y'all soon!!! -Anna

Creativity mission; The Podcast Blues

Hiya everyone, it’s been a busy couple of  weeks  but I wanted to share my experience with what my group and I have been up to f or my  intro to digital media  mission .  F irst my group and I decided on Interactive fiction because that’s what stood out to me, But I've always been a big fan of podcasts and I know a lot of friends that listen to them whenever they fall asleep to make overthinking less of a problem.  We decided to change to digital audio, as it doesn’t put a lot of pressure on us but it’s still something out of our comfort zones. On the first day we made a  whatsapp  group as one of the people in our group preferred to speak outside of social media. But we tried to keep slack in a way to communicate how we’re getting on and so on. The problem with doing a podcast is you need a quiet place to record yourselves as audio can pick up everything around you so that was going to be a problem. I did all the recommended reading and listened to the relevant podcasts and

Podcast Blues- the process to it all.

I wanted to talk about my process with everyone that's reading this if you ever want to do a podcast yourself, here's some really bad inspo so you can do what i didn't My group and I decided to meet on a day where we all felt comfortable and none of our jobs would interconnect with each-others. One of our main priorities was to find a quiet room so we could all record the podcast without any interruptions. Me and my friend decided to look around the college building to find any places or recording studios to record our  Po dcast  but we were in no luck as all of the rooms were occupied. We decided to leave and find a room on the day of the podcast as our lecturer wasn’t having a class that  da y  so we wanted to test out our luck. Before the podcast, my group and I decided to go into the canteen and brainstorm our ideas for what we were to talk about; college life. We spent about an hour doing this, one of the people in my group was my friend so it would be easier to
